“Creative by Nature” Exhibition is Now Live!
Hey Everyone! I’d like to extend a personal invitation to see my “Creative by Nature” exhibit now on display. This exhibit is supported by Visual Arts Brampton (VAB) in association with the Artway Invitational Gallery, located on the northwest side of Shoppers World Brampton. Come on down! Grab a cup of Java, sit a while and enjoy the view.
Preparation and Setting up the exhibit
Much preparation went in to getting myself and the exhibit organized in time for the October 3rd exhibit. However, the late nights and hard work paid off, because I literally jumped for joy after seeing my bio and art on display for all to see (and buy if they see fit…wink, wink).
I’m also very thankful to both Matt and Colleen at Visual Arts Brampton , for their time and effort helping me bring one of my goals to reality, as well as special shout out to Surita with the Brampton Library for making the Culture Days registration and entry process that much easier for me.
About “Creative by Nature” What To Expect
For this exhibit, you’ll notice creative works in a variety of fine arts medium that I’ve worked with personally for decades, including watercolour, acrylics, mixed media, and of course, my personal favourite; oils.
Other mediums, such as chalk and oil pastels, I’ve only recently taken up as a means to expand myself creatively. For those of you interested, you can also view more of my #ajabcreations on my Art YouTube Channel.
Some of you may even recognize pieces posted on various social media platforms earlier this year. One of my personal favourites just happens to be “Demonstration Rocks”, because it was the final painting I created with my students at CMHA Peel/Dufferin; Recovery West group in 2018.
Initially I thought the subject of “rocks” would be too difficult a subject to facilitate to beginner painting students but, I was pleasantly surprised to see how well they were able to successfully create realistic looking rocks on their initial attempt.
So, if any of my former oil painting students are reading this, why not stop by the gallery in SWB and see how this painting looks now that it’s been varnished and placed in a permanent frame.
By the way I will be posting an article later explaining step by step how to varnish your paintings.
