The Empowering Women & Youths of the One Buuri Project Fundraiser is a legitimate fundraiser, organized by Joan A Brown, to aid ONE BUURI, a registered non-profit based in Ghana, with their mission is to empower and provide economical support to women and youths in their community.
One Buuri was officially established in 2017 to spearhead empowerment initiative programs in rural communities. The shea butter project is operates out of Kassina Nankani municipality in Ghana.
Their core programs are women and youth empowerment, rural child support, permaculture activities, preservation and promotion of indigenous cultures.
The History Behind the One Buuri Vision
Buuri is from the Gurune dialect which means Family, tribe or people.
“ONE BUURI” symbolizes Unity and oneness of the human race.
The Purpose of One Buuri Project Fundraiser
Unfortunately, unemployment in rural communities continue to be one of the major social problems of the 21st century. The project supports participant women and youths to engage in the production and value addition of shea butter.
How Are Funds From The One Buuri Shea Butter Project” Fundraiser Used?
The participants are provided the necessary skills training as well as financial support to produce quality “organic” shea butter for the national and international markets.
One Buuri organizes the women, train them on safety measures in the production cycle, provide them money to buy the nuts and other materials for the production.
After the sales all expenses are deducted and the profit is distributed to the women. They also get paid for their labour. Portions of the money also goes into educational activities of children in the community.
